1999-2000 Defence system design and evaluation

Employment context:
Manager and individual contributor within a Human Factors team of approximately 25 people within the Defense Evaluation Research Agency (DERA). Centre for Human Sciences.  The group effectively acted as a centralised Human Factors consultancy team for all the MoD’s technology prototyping projects.

Responsibilities included:

  1. Consultation on innovative research methods particularly in the domain of socio-technical system development and use.
  2. Managing the human factors contribution made by others to large system prototyping projects that lead to detailed prototypes and procurement tendering specifications.
  3. Producing user requirements specifications based on interviews,  observations and reviews of secondary resources.
